Logística reversa e mudanças no modelo de negócio: um estudo de caso da indústria de pneumáticos

Resumo: Environmental laws may impacts the business model of companies in the tire industry in Brazil, through the requirement in the development and implementation of reverse logistics.Given this context, this study aims to understand how companies in the tire industry developed and implemented a reverse logistics, and what were the impacts on their business model. A key components of a business model is the value chain, in extent that is the basis for the maintenance and / or acquisition of competitive advantage, in order to create value for both the company and its stakeholders and for the consumer market. In the specific case of reverse logistics, value chain beyond the boundaries of the firm, extending downstream chain.For both, was adopted a survey method based on qualitative data collection with the strategy of the case study. Notably, the study analyzes the value chain of the company focus,contemplating from the manufacturer, the official dealer until the company responsible for waste management, beyond the downstream value chain of its competitor. It is noteworthy,that, the company focus of this study is considered the fifth largest in the world tire industry in Sales. The analysis results demonstrated, that, changes in the business model of the manufacturers was through reconfiguring its value chain, more specifically, the downstream chain extension, beyond the creation of a nonprofit organization with the objective of monitor and manage the reverse flows. In fact, showed that, innovation in the company's business model is substantially based on networks of external collaborations, in order to attend both environmental legislation and economic aspects of the organization. Still, changes in the business model of its dealers are more apparent, fact that, can be observed through the inclusion of reverse logistics activities in their configuration the value.

Em face desse contexto, este estudo tem por objetivo entender como as empresas na indústria de pneumáticos desenvolveram e implementaram a logística reversa e quais foram os impactos em seu modelo de negócios. Um dos componentes fundamentais de um modelo é a cadeia de valor, na medida em que é a base para a manutenção e/ou aquisição da vantagem competitiva, visando a criar valor tanto para a empresa e seus stakeholders quanto para o mercado consumidor. No caso específico da logística reversa, a cadeia de valor ultrapassa as fronteiras da empresa, estendendo à jusante da cadeia. Para tanto, foi adotada uma pesquisa baseada no método coleta de dados tipo qualitativo, com a estratégia do estudo de caso. Notadamente, o estudo analisou a cadeia de valor da empresa foco, contemplando desde a fabricante, a revendedora oficial até a empresa responsável pelo gerenciamento de resíduos, além da jusante da cadeia de valor de sua concorrente. Vale destacar, que, a empresa foco deste estudo é considerada a quinta maior do mundo em faturamento na indústria de pneumáticos. O resultado da análise demonstrou, que,as mudanças no modelo de negócios das fabricantes foi por meio da reconfiguração de sua cadeia de valor, mais especificamente, a extensão da cadeia à jusante, além da criação de uma organização sem fins lucrativos com o objetivo de monitorar e gerenciar os fluxos reversos. De fato, evidenciou que, a inovação no modelo de negócios da empresa é fortemente baseada em redes de colaborações externas, com o objetivo de atender tanto as legislações ambientais quanto aos aspectos econômicos da organização.
