Ideologia, história e relações discursivas: uma análise do discurso de posse presidencial de Jair Bolsonaro

When we talk about discourse, we consider the use of language in real situations of interaction between speakers. In the field of Discourse Analysis, there is a branch to the studies of argumentation, which aims to identify, in the discourses, marks and strategies that the enunciating subject uses with the purpose of convincing the enunciate to adhere to his/her theses. This notion is especially verified in political discourse, given by political actors who seek at all times to convince citizens of their legitimacy to reach power or to remain in it and, to this end, use various strategies of persuasion and manipulation in their discourses. In this sense, this dissertation proposes an analysis of the inauguration speech of President Jair Bolsonaro, in order to verify which characteristics and mechanisms of elaboration of the ethos are present in his speech. The analysis, based on an argumentative and rhetorical perspective, pointed out elements in Bolsonaro’s inauguration speech that reinforce an ideal of homogenization of certain aspects that lead to the denial of the different. This favors a discursive polarization that emerges from the elaboration of the discursive image of a ruler who appears as a “savior of the nation” in relation to what is considered, in the inauguration speech, as the opposite and, therefore, totally negative.
