Resumo: O presente trabalho trata da reutilização de um galpão industrial e o projeto arquitetônico de um edifício de habitação de interesse social com embasamento comercial e uma praça central, no Brás. O estudo foi fundamentado através de um mergulho na história do bairro, identificando os elementos de sua memória e desmemória; a compreensão da importância da preservação de preexistências; e buscando conciliar os anseios do mercado imobiliário, tendo como diretriz a legislação prevista no novo Plano Diretor Estratégico de 2014, que delimitou ações na área de projeto, e o entendimento das demandas da população da cidade de São Paulo.
