The study aims to investigate and reflect on the art museum today. In spectacularization times of shapes and the use of the museum’s image of power as a transformative element of the city space, which involves key concepts in contemporary culture, such as politics, tourism, consumption, art and citizenship, this has become a key issue for analysis of contemporary culture. The explosion of the construction of museums around the world in recent years, has called the attention. What are the reasons for this demand? There are many speculations; A new phase of financial capitalism, where culture has now become a new asset in the investment portfolio? The privatization of culture in the wake of neoliberalism, with the transfer to the private power of the ancient obligation of public power? Using the museum reframing power to revitalize centers abandoned with the construction of new frameworks for public management? On the other hand when it comes to the art museum, the relationship between architecture and art becomes evident. We know it is impossible to dissociate the experience of enjoyment of the artwork of the place where it operates. Is a museum, an exhibition, a biennial or even in the open space of the city. What characterizes and defines the place for art? The art requires a unique place? Current issues that turn the museum into a sensory map of contemporary culture.
