Resumo: In the contemporary scenario in which the street art expands for the city and enters with your language in new physical spaces, public or private, residential, comercial and artistic spaces in museums, galleries and auction houses, gaining status of art and reverberating in diverse areas of design and market segments with their respective objects, in areas of communication and their media, as well as fields of study and research; this work presents the convergences between street art and design, tracing connections between the language of urban visual interventions, the city and society. Through a creative and interdisciplinary methodology guided by the structures of the visual language, in the qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research carried out through bibliographical revision, iconographic and field research, and the elaboration of a narrative with images and about the images guided by the way of seeing of the author - designer and researcher -, this work exposes the city as a palimpsest full of visual layers, which inspires designers and artists with their graffiti, among other street art styles, provides visual raw material that extends to design and returns to the city, reflecting the spirit of a time and directing social relations through behavior, fashion and consumption tendencies. The designer is presented as a mediator of this relationship, able to read, interpret, translate and materialize in images and objects that constitute a visual culture. Among the analyzed design projects that present appropriations, inspirations, echoes, contaminations, abstractions, reactions and reflexes of street art, it was noticed the presence of projects carried out by designers, some with literal characteristics and others with interpretations of street language. Other projects performed by urban visual artists were also noticed, whose results show the mirroring of their own languages and styles. It was verified that the forms of visual representation also vary according to the market segment, the target, the producing company, the brand and the way of seeing and interpreting of each designer. In addition to the imagetic flow, the transfer and absorption of new meanings, values and symbolic powers by design and street art were also perceived.

In addition to the imagetic flow, the transfer and absorption of new meanings, values and symbolic powers by design and street art were also perceived.
