This project sought to investigate how the haptic and olfactory perceptions of blind young people could contribute to the design creation, specifically to the development of fragrance packaging, mainly related to glass bottles. The process of creation and development of a product demands from the designing engineer, besides specific knowledge of materials and techniques, a deep comprehension of an individual and it´s cultural background. The study was based on Marleau-Ponty´s phenomenology perception, Gestalt´s theory, and in specific researches related to blindness and production methods for product design. Based on a qualitative investigation, a semi-structured method of interviews with young blind people were taken; Immersive experiences were experimented by the researcher, expanding its vision for the complexity of the individual, their background experience and culture. It is considered that the result of this project could contribute with the packaging creation in the future, and innovates aiming possibilities of researches that establishes relations between form and olfactory perceptions.
