CONTRIBUTIONS ON THE NANOTECHNOLOGY REGULATION IN EUROPE AND THE UNITED STATES

Resumo: This work constitutes an initial approach and contribution to the issue of regulation of nanotechnology (NT) and nanomaterials (NM's) or nanoforms and their production, starting with a review of different arguments because it is necessary to have regulatory instruments and a brief explanation of the different ways this can happen (mandatory, voluntary, horizontal, vertical, local, national, international). Then, a close count is made of two of the main regulatory frameworks in the matter, that of the European Community and that of the United States of America (USA). A descriptive method using the international literature review is used.
