Feno de alfafa em substituição ao feno de tifton em dietas para cabras leiteiras

This study aimed to evaluate the substitution of Tifton hay for alfalfa hay in diets forage cactus to Saanen lactating goats on intake and digestibility of nutrients, milk production and composition, feeding behavior and blood parameters. The treatments consisted of increasing levels (0, 33, 67 and 100%) of alfalfa hay replacing Tifton hay in dry matter basis. 12 dairy goats were used, with a live weight of 45 kg and average production of 3.0 kg milk / day in three 4x4 Latin square. The results were submitted to variance and regression analysis with 5% significance level, through the SAS GML procedure. The dry matter intake, as expressed in g / day, increased linearly as a function of hay replacement levels of Tifton by alfalfa hay, followed the same behavior nutrients: crude protein; ether extract; organic matter; total carbohydrates; non-fibrous carbohydrates and water consumption via food and water total consumption. The fiber intake of neutral detergent in grams / day showed a quadratic behavior. The replacement of Tifton hay by alfalfa hay did not influence the apparent digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, ether extract, neutral detergent fiber, total carbohydrates and non-fibrous carbohydrates. For all blood parameters evaluated, urea, creatinine, total protein, albumin and glucose no influence of hay replacement levels of Tifton by alfalfa hay for the variables observed before or after feeding. The feeding behavior in all the studied variables did not influence the treatments. With the replacement of Tifton hay by alfalfa hay, there were no effects on milk production and composition, as well as for feed efficiency. The replacement of Tifton hay by alfalfa hay in diets for lactating goats, when is 30% dry matter, increases dry matter intake and other nutrients, however, did not affect the digestibility, blood parameters and feeding behavior, and order does not improve milk production and composition.
