his experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of supplementation with Aminogut® (L-glutamine and L-glutamic acid in the form of free amino acids) in sows on the morphometry of the intestinal villi and crypt depth of suckling piglets at 28 days old. We used 14 sows pluriparous numbers of births over 4 (four), crossbred, acquired through the crossbreeding of breeds (Large White X Landrace), distributed in a completely randomized design matrices were divided into two groups, 7 animals per replicate. T0- control, without supplementation, T1-supplementation with Aminogut® at a ratio of 2.5% of the total diet. Each treatment were sacrificed four piglets, which had chosen the piglet weaning weight closer to the average litter weight. The diets were isonitrogenous and isocaloric and obeyed the nutritional requirements of a proposal for each physiological state. The period of supplementation of females began 7 (seven) days before the expected date of childbirth. Analyses of the villi and crypt depth of small and large intestine were performed on biopsies / UFRPE. The group with Aminogut® had a greater crypt depth (P<0.01) differed from the control treatment which was less crypt depth, both the small intestine and for the bulk. In conclusion, supplementation in sows with L-glutamine and Lglutamic acid, increased the depth of the crypts of both small intestine and large intestine, and had no effect on the weight of the piglets.
