Resumo: This paper has the objective to show how the Martial State actuated in Brazil during Leaden Years beyond Carnival, a popular party known by the irreverence, improvise and inversion of standard values observed day by day on society. So, it‟s necessary to notice that exists a relationship of forces between the social actors involved on the party, facing it as an escape and guarantee of some rules by Direct State like freedom; and a second force, expressed by a specific law in favor of order, good habits and avoid subversion. Even so, the repression of State to the popular parties aren‟t a new practice, the characteristics that involved the Dictatorship in Brazil between 1968 and 1975 consent an analysis with more details to understand how was the answer showed by the representative power in respect to the behavior of those ones and observe in proportion to changes and permanencies about this relationship of forces. Along of three chapters, has an intention to present, through documents, newspapers and memories, the trajectory of Martial State on a period of more obscure practices about Brazilian Dictatorship, and his performance in connection to the Carnival party. At the first chapter, we have a historical analysis about how the Carnival has repressed by the State and the moderate imposed, as well as the changes and permanencies tempted. The second chapter approach a political analysis of the facts, called for involve the direct participation of the powers executive and legislative taken with Momo‟s triduo, putting in relief the relationship about civil and military people. The last one has an intention to contemplate the utilization of memories, be it participators of the Carnival or members of the Army very important to the period, investigating the methods to define the party, as well as the participation of the State, overcoat the direct action about the first one.

Assim, faz-se necessário perceber que existe uma relação de forças entre os atores sociais envolvidos nas festas, encarando estas como formas de escape e manutenção de algumas características inerentes ao Estado de Direito, como a liberdade; e uma segunda força, manifestada por uma legislação específica em prol de ditames como ordem, bons costumes e afastamento da subversão. Embora não seja algo totalmente novo a repressão por parte do Estado ao brinquedo momesco, as características que envolveram a Ditadura Militar durante os anos de 1968 e 1975 permitem uma análise mais pormenorizada de como se determinou o espaço social destes grupos na defesa de seus ideais, assim como qual foi a resposta apresentada pelos representantes do poder em relação aos modos de comportamento daqueles e em que medida mudanças e permanências surgiram em virtude deste embate ideológico. Ao longo de três capítulos, o trabalho tem a intenção de mostrar, através de documentos, jornais e memórias, os percursos percorridos em busca de entender como se deu essa atuação do Estado Ditatorial, em um dos períodos mais obscuros da História do Brasil, sobre a farsa carnavalesca. No primeiro capítulo, procuramos enfocar uma análise historiográfica de como a festa apresentou-se enquanto brincadeira reprimida e em que medida essa repressão provocou a tentativa de disciplinamento, bem como modificações ou continuidades para a festa. No segundo capítulo houve a busca por uma análise política dos fatos, procurando abordar a participação direta dos Poderes Executivo e Legislativo em relação ao tríduo de Momo, dando enfoque às relações entre civis e militares.
