Resumo: | This work was divided in three chapters, had the objective to establish fetal measurement parameters that allow appreciate the age of gestation (IG) and birth fetal weight with one or two ultra-sonografic examinations with, to determine the ideal moment to sex goat and ovine embryos comparing the average migration period of the genital tubercle between sex, race and species, to evaluate the accuracy of the fetal sexing between sexes, as well as defining the best plans for sexing of goat and ovine embryos. In the first chapter experiment 156 Dorper, Morada Nova and Damara embryos had been monitored, from 30 to 45 days of gestation, being measured the céfalo-coccígeo length (CCC), area (AC), perimeter (PC) and volume (VC) of concept and area (AV), perimeter (PV) and volume (VV) of the embryonic vesicle. All you create them had been weighed after the birth immediately. The equations had not evidenced existence of relation (P > 0,05) between the photometric parameters and the fetal weight to the birth, however, they had shown to high correlation (P < 0,05) with the pregnancy age and amongst the parameters, the CCC were what it presented greater efficiency. In the experiment of as the chapter two 280 embryos in 24-hour intervals had been monitored, of the 30 to the 60 day of gestation in the sheep and of the 40 to the 60 day in goats, with ultrasound. The average time of migration of the TG in the ovine species (41, 3 ± 3,1 days) was lesser (P < 0.05) that in the goat species (47,2 ± 2,3 days) and in this species, the migration of the TG of the embryos of the race of Saanen was more delayed (P < 0.05) of that in the too much races. Ahead of the results concludes that the fetal sexing in the ovine is precocious of the one than in the goat ones and that the sex of the embryo does not influence in the average time of migration of the TG. In the experiment of the third chapter 280 embryos from 219 females were monitored , being examined goats between Days 40 and 60 and sheeps on Days 30 to 60 of pregnancy, with an ultrasound equipped with linear transducer (6.0 and 8.0 MHz), by transrectal via. Of the visualized plans, longitudinal the ventral was considered most efficient to sex foetus in both the species, a time that are acquired images of the initial period of genital tubercle migration, beyond the visualization of other structures, as umbilical lace, nipples, prepuce, mammary gland and escrotal bag. |

No experimento do primeiro capítulo foram monitorados 164 fetos das raças Dorper, Morada Nova e Damara aos 30 e 45 dias de gestação, sendo mensurados o comprimento céfalo-coccígeo (CCC), área do concepto (AC), perímetro do concepto (PC) e volume do concepto (VC) e área da vesícula (AV), perímetro da vesícula (PV) e volume da vesícula (VV). Todas as crias foram pesadas imediatamente após o nascimento. As equações não evidenciaram existência de relação (P > 0,05) entre os parâmetros fetométricos e o peso fetal ao nascimento, todavia, mostraram alta correlação (P < 0,05) com a idade gestacional e dentre os parâmetros, sendo o comprimento céfalo-coccígeo o que apresentou maior eficiência. Baseado nos resultados concluiu-se que aquele ultra-som associado com equações de regressão lineares específicas, pode ser utilizado para determinar a idade gestacional. No experimento do segundo capítulo foram monitorados com ultra-som 317 fetos em intervalos de 24 horas, do 30º ao 60º dias de gestação em ovelhas e do 40º ao 60º dias em cabras, com ultra-som. O tempo médio de migração do TG na espécie ovina (41.3 ± 3.1 dias) foi menor (P < 0.05) que na espécie caprina (47.2 ± 2.3 dias) e nessa espécie, a migração do TG dos fetos da raça de Saanen foi mais tardia (P < 0.05) do que nas demais raças. Diante dos resultados conclui-se que a sexagem fetal nos ovinos é mais precoce do que nos caprinos e que o sexo do feto não influencia no tempo médio de migração do TG. No experimento do terceiro capítulo foram avaliadas imagens ultra-sonográficas de 280 fetos das espécies caprina e ovina submetidos à sexagem fetal entre o 40° e 60º dias em cabras e 30º e 60º dias em ovelhas. Conclui-se que dos planos visualizados, o longitudinal ventral foi considerado o mais eficiente para sexar fetos em ambas as espécies (52.86%), uma vez que são captadas imagens do período inicial de migração de tubérculo genital, além da visualização de outras estruturas, como cordão umbilical, tetas, glândula mamária e prepúcio e bolsa de escrotal.
