Understanding the importance of studying the teaching-learning process in the field of accounting sciences, since it is pressured to evolve, as a result of the environment of transformations in which it is inserted, bringing as demand the need for a training appropriate, the central proposal of this research was to analyze the perception of students and teachers in relation to the effectiveness of the teaching methods employed in the development of the managerial disciplines, relating these methods with other variables (learning Significant, neuroscience in education, learning styles). For this, in this qualitative study, of exploratorydescriptive objectives, the method of analysis of content was applied from the interviews, questionnaire and observations, identifying the reality of the teaching-learning process in the course of science Accounting of a higher education institution in the city of Caruaru-PE. The results showed that, in the perception of students and teachers, the methods that should be used most are those that bring the professional reality closer to the student, such as technical visits, laboratory classes and case studies. In addition, the study shows that teachers will not always be able to meet the learning styles, in order to ensure the learning of most students. In this way, the ideal would be to seek an "average learning style" between the students or make "adjustments" in the existing methods, in order to provide the attendance to the different learning styles. Finally, the data analyzed, in addition to ratifying the complexity of the learning process, gave rise to seven substantive theories that offer convergent understanding of the investigated phenomenon.
