Resumo: | Our purpose was evaluated genotypes of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) favorable for cultivation at Central Forest region of Pernambuco state and their ornamental potential. Four independent experiments were performed. The first evaluated the performance of six genotypes growing in experimental area, while the others evaluated the ornamental potential of two genotypes in greenhouse, at Department of Agronomy of Universidad Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE). For genotypes growing in experimental area, the dependent variables were plant height; stem diameter, denting of leaf intensity, spinal margin of leaf intensity, branches number for plant and stand, by randomized block design. For genotypes growing in greenhouse, in second experiment, by a completely design, the dependent variables were plant height; stem diameter, denting of leaf intensity, spinal margin of leaf intensity, branches number, chapters number, spinal margin of bracts intensity, flowering begin and flowers production. In third experiment, by completely randomized block design, in factorial arrangement, following variables were observed: plant height; stem diameter, branches number, chapters number and flowers production. In fourth experiment, by completely randomized design, in factorial arrangement, the dependent variables were number of flower; number of flower buds and stem durability. Analysis of variance was performed with F test followed by regression analysis or Tukey's post-hoc test (p < 0.05). In experimental area, the genotypes show unfavorable production at winter, while in protected environment with irrigation can be a favorable production. In greenhouse, the genotypes show ornamental potential, with precocity, beauty, and durability of flowers. In addition, the heterogeneity of interest phenotypes includes these genotypes in breeding programs. Ultimately, the best density for potting refers to one plant per pot and the best cut point refers to semi-open flowers. |

Submitted by Mario BC (mario@bc.ufrpe.br) on 2019-02-11T13:04:03Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Gersia Goncalves de Melo.pdf: 1734131 bytes, checksum: 8241486864238e0e3db5da7a1c859c07 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-02-11T13:04:03Z (GMT).
