Avaliação da resposta leucocitária com o uso de Pegbovigrastim em vacas holandesas no pós-parto

Brazil is the fourth largest milk producer in the world, even with a large number of animals the Brazilian herds still face several problems that prevent the increase of production, among them we can highlight the uterine infections that affect animals in the postpartum In view of this, the objective of this study was to evaluate the leukocyte response with the use of pegbovigrastim in postpartum Holstein cows. The experiment was carried out at the experimental station of the Agronomic Research Institute located in São Bento do Una, in the state of Pernambuco. Twelve animals were divided into two groups, control (CG) and treatment (TG), where TG received two applications of the product, seven days before the expected date of delivery and another one within 24 hours after delivery. The CG received at the same conditions saline solution 0.09% NaCl. All animals were evaluated by leukometry and endometrial cytology every 7 days from the first application to 21 days postpartum. The animals that received pegbovigrastim had a satisfactory result in the total amount of leukocytes (p <.0001), mainly due to the increase of segmented neutrophils in which TG presented a general mean of 10,467 cells / μL of blood and GC a mean of 4,278 cells / μL (p <0.004), however there was no change in the percentage of segmented neutrophils present in the endometrium. It is concluded that the treatment is effective to increase the amount of leukocytes, mainly segmented neutrophils, in the postpartum period.
