Caracterização e gênese de solos originados de rochas metamórficas e carbonatadas na região semiárida de Pernambuco

The source material acts predominantly in the formation of soils in the semiarid region of northeastern Brazil, due to the low intensity of the effect of climate factor, the soils formed tend to have a greater correlation with their source material, that is, young soils. The semi-arid region has the greatest soil diversity in the country, among them the characteristic Vertisols are present due to their potential for contraction and expansion and the Cambisols, relatively young soils with a large amount of primary minerals. Carbonate rocks are the source material of several classes of soils, including Vertisols and Cambisols. Knowing this, profiles were selected based on the similarity between their materials of origin, taking as a prerequisite of the choice, being derived from carbonate rocks. The following research aimed to characterize morphological, physical, chemical and mineralogical soils and their relationship with the carbon stock in the semiarid region. For this purpose, two profiles located in Itacuruba-PE (Profile 1) and Vertente do Lério-PE (Profile 2) were selected and collected, deformed and deformed samples were taken, classified and described morphologically. Profile 1 was classified as VERTISOLO EBÂNICO Carbonático saprolítico solódico, and profile 2 as CAMBISSOLO HÁPLICO Sodium hypocarbonatico vertisolico. The evaluation of the properties of these soils contributes to the advancement of their knowledge in the caatinga ecosystem, which helps in studies on their potential and limitations.
