Histórias de trancoso entre subversão e esperança: uma tradição camponesa esquecida

The discussed objects are the “Histories of Trancoso”, an emic concept in Brazil’s northeastern region for a cultural manifestation of orality, in which tales are created, narrated, reproduced and transmitted across generation, through “storytellers” and their respective interlocutors, who learn through repetition and also become storytellers. Thus, this research aims to interpret the phenomenon “Histories of Trancoso” in rural communities surrounding the municipality of Caetés, Pernambuco, bringing to mind memories of orality in 1950-1990, in two dimensions: the first one as a practice of oral tradition; and the other one, as a representation of the historicities of the stories. The main problem of this research is to understand how the tale’s stories and representations of these stories were given, within the historical symbolic web provided by the community and its subjects. The phenomenon is perceived as an “object” of Cultural History, with sources of orality acquired from working with the methodology of Oral History and respectively the sources are interpreted through the phenomenological hermeneutic method of Paul Ricoeur, linking the sources in the method: text, context, text.
