Resumo: | The Monilophyta and Lycophyta (Pteridophytes) have adaptations to survive the dry periods. The water deficit in seasonally dry environments, such as semideciduous forest, seems to be the main factor that determines the selection of species with adaptive mechanisms to this type of stress, influencing the establishment, and timing of growth and dormancy of the plants. This work aims to identify the survival strategies developed by three populations of Monilophyta occurring in a semideciduous forest in the city of Aliança, Pernambuco, during the dry and rainy. Tours were conducted monthly for 12 months, to monitor the development of three populations of the genus Adiantum L. (Pteridaceae). From the rainy season, were marked 32 individuals of A. petiolatum, 30 A. deflectens and 13 A. pulverulentum. Biological data were linked with periods of climatological data. It was found that the behavior of the studied species showed different strategies of survival according to the climatic factors (mainly water stress) during the dry season and regrowth in the rainy season, depending on the values of local rainfall. This research brought about significant increases in data life cycle and behavior of species of ferns in a semideciduous forest, where there is little knowledgeabout the behavior of these plants in the dry season. |

Submitted by (edna.saturno@ufrpe.br) on 2016-06-22T14:48:18Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Keyla Roberta Menezes Silva Souza.pdf: 327951 bytes, checksum: 90263714954579005ae0d75907a4c4b7 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-06-22T14:48:18Z (GMT).
