Resumo: | The failure of skin flaps due to total or partial necrosis is not an isolated fact. Several research using pharmacological and non-pharmacological resources have been made to increase viability. The copaiba oil has been used in several experimental models such as healing of wounds. However, we did not find reports on the use of this oil on the viability of skin flaps. The objective of this study was to evaluate the morphological and morphometric aspects of skin flaps in rats treated with copaiba oil (Copaifera langsdorffii). Thirty Wistar rats were divided into three groups: absolute control (GCA), control (CG) and treated (GT). Mice in all groups were submitted to the dorsal skin flap surgery and evaluated for eight days postoperatively. The animals of the GCA did not receive postoperative treatment, while the animals in the control group received topical treatment with ointment containing only the vehicle (vaseline and glycerin) and the animals of the GT group were treated with copaiba oil ointment 10% using vaseline and glycerine as a carrier. On the eighth day after the operation the animals were ortonasiados and were collected fragments of the cranial portions, and average flow of the skin flap for histopathological analysis. Analyses of variance were significant (p <0.05) for necrotic area (GCA> GC and GT), number of blood vessels in the Middle and flow (GT> GCA and GC), number of leukocytes in the cranial parts (GT> GC and GCA), medium (GT and GC> GCA) and the caudal (GT> GC> GCA), number of fibroblasts in the middle parts (GT and GC> GCA) and flow (GT> GC and GCA). There was no significant difference between the groups in blood vessel count and fibroblasts in the cranial and collagen fibers in all parts (p> 0.05). Based on these results it is concluded that the copaiba oil tested was effective in enabling the skin flap random in rats, favoring the process of tissue repair |

Based on these results it is concluded that the copaiba oil tested was effective in enabling the skin flap random in rats, favoring the process of tissue repairO insucesso de retalhos cutâneos devido à necrose total ou parcial não é um fato isolado. Submitted by (edna.saturno@ufrpe.br) on 2016-10-14T16:44:09Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Ligia Reis Moura Estevao.pdf: 4954419 bytes, checksum: 19ecc07d3ed3f631530c48a3882bcf2b (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-10-14T16:44:09Z (GMT).
