Resumo: The tomato is one of the most economically important oleracea in the world market, both in value and in volume, however, this crop still suffers significant damage due to the incidence of bacterial wilt, which is an aggressive and difficult to control disease. The main control measure within integrated management has been genetic resistance. From the knowledge of genetic control of genotype resistance, it is possible to improve the efficiency of breeding programs. Therefore, the objective of this research was to study the inheritance of resistance to bacterial wilt in tomato genotypes Yoshimatsu and Hawaii 7996. For crosses and backcrosses, the genotypes Yoshimatsu and Hawaii 7996, both resistant to bacterial wilt, were used as parents. The experiments were conducted at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), under greenhouse conditions to obtain the generations (F1, F2, F2;3, RC11 and RC12) and at the bacteriology laboratory for the preparation of the inoculum suspension Ralstonia solanacearum and Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum. Two statistical designs were used, one randomized block design with six treatments (Yoshimatsu, Hawaii 7996, F1, F2, RC11 and RC12) in three replications and another one using 62 treatments (Yoshimatsu, Hawaii 7996 and F2;3). The results showed that the resistance to bacterial wilt caused by the two species has different genetic control for Yoshimatsu and Hawaii 7996 cultivars.

A principal medida de controle dentro de um manejo integrado tem sido a resistência genética. A partir do conhecimento do controle genético da resistência de genótipos é que se torna possível melhorar a eficiência dos programas de melhoramento. Portanto, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi estudar a herança da resistência à murcha bacteriana nos genótipos de tomateiro Yoshimatsu e Hawaii 7996. Para a realização dos cruzamentos e retrocruzamentos foram utilizados como genitores os genótipos Yoshimatsu e Hawaii 7996, ambos resistentes à murcha bacteriana. Os experimentos foram conduzidos na Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE), em condições de casa de vegetação para obtenção das gerações (F1, F2, F2;3, RC11 e RC12) e no laboratório de bacteriologia para o preparo da suspensão dos inóculos de Ralstonia solanacearum e Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum. Foram utilizados dois delineamentos estatísticos, um delineamento em blocos casualizados com seis tratamentos (Yoshimatsu, Hawaii 7996, F1, F2, RC11 e RC12) em três repetições e outro delineamento utilizando 62 tratamentos (Yoshimatsu, Hawaii 7996 e F2;3).
