The state of Pernambuco is considered one of the largest textile industrial centers in the country. Among the cities that are part of this Local Productive Arrangement (APL) of Agreste Pernambucano, the following stand out: Caruaru, Toritama, and Santa Cruz do Capibaribe. In this sense, the present study aims to chemically characterize the sludge from several laundries in Caruaru for application in several APLs in the State of Pernambuco. More specifically, to promote to environmental, municipal, and state agencies, in addition to interested companies, the levels of concentration of organic and inorganic compounds present in the sludge. Initially, 11 samples of sludge deposited directly from the effluent treatment stations of the Caruaru laundries were collected. The material was stored and prepared at the Laboratory of Medicines, Technologies, Energy and Environmental Solutions at UFRPE, where pH and organic matter analyzes were carried out. Subsequently, the samples were prepared to carry out chemical analysis of the sludge in the GEOSOL laboratory, using the technique (ICP/OES). After analyzing the results, it was possible to quantify some micronutrients such as arsenic, chromium, lead, zinc, copper, and nickel per kilogram of sludge, consequently determining the appropriate dose of sludge in tons per hectare (ton. ha-1) to be applied as an agricultural corrective for sorghum, sugar cane, soy, and corn crops. According to the maximum application rates of industrial sludge in agricultural soils, the data obtained showed a variation of the adequate dosage from 3.05 to 127.65 (ton. ha-1) depending on the chemical composition of the sludge and nutritional requirement of the crops. Therefore, it is concluded that the analyzed data proved to be satisfactory for applying sludge with fertilizing fertilizer in cultures of the local APL.
