Introduction: Primary Health Care (PHC) aims to provide comprehensive, humanized and quality care, always attentive to the epidemiological and sociodemographic changes of the population. Given the importance of knowing the health status of the population, this study was based on the indicators stipulated by the Previne Brazil Program, to assess the current health situation in basic health units (PHU) of a city in the extreme south of Santa Catarina. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive and exploratory study, with a quantitative approach, carried out with data derived from an umbrella project. For data collection, a set of questionnaires were constructed that addressed the aspects present in the National Program for Improving Access and Quality of Primary Care (PMAQ) and in the Previne Brasil Program. Results: Forty-four basic health units were considered eligible for the research, and 179 users and 45 health professionals participated in the survey. Conclusions: It is noteworthy that most units participating in the research contemplated the seven program indicators, however, it is noteworthy that the health services of the municipality are still in the process of adaptation to the new health indicators, evidenced in the percentages found in relation to the Haemophilus Influenzae vaccine (HIB), recently added to the Previne Brazil Program.
