Resumo: The cultivation of soybeans is one of the most important agricultural activities of the Brazilian economy, being the State of Mato Grosso the largest national producer of this crop in planted area and volume of production. This work is an important support tool in decision making on soybean investment, as it will awaken in the producer / investor the need for more accurate surveys of costs, expenses and the use of investment analysis tools. This work aimed to verify the economic and environmental viability of soybean cultivation in the State of Mato Grosso. The present study used bibliographic research with the use of secondary data through a methodological approach of the inductive type and regarding the procedures the method was historical / statistical. In this way, secondary data from sources such as CONAB (National Supply Company), BACEN (Central Bank of Brazil) and IMEA (Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural and Livestock Economy) were used. The Simplified Income Statement was calculated, with a net profit of US $ 127.62 per hectare, after which the Cash Flow was elaborated and through it, new calculations were made finding the Net Present Value of US $ 76,042.38, with an Internal Rate of Return of 11.18% and a Payback of 6 years, 10 months and 25 days, based on a plot of 100 hectares within the State of Mato Grosso. It was estimated that the soybean crop would generate a return of US $ 377.67 per hectare / crop in relation to the commercialization of the carbon credit. Therefore, it is concluded that the cultivation of soybeans combined with the possibility of generating carbon credits makes soybean cultivation even more economically viable.

Submitted by Laudeceia Machado (laudeceia.machado@usc.br) on 2018-04-20T19:16:27Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Viabilidade economica e ambiental do cultivo de soja e o credito de carbono (216993).pdf: 5436115 bytes, checksum: c2edc70195b6224a57932e623e54ef21 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2018-04-20T19:16:27Z (GMT).
