Summary: The article aimed to reflect on ethics, considering its implications for scientific research, and thus, to glimpse the meaning of ethics applied in research with human beings, especially in the area of ​​human and social sciences. This is a bibliographic review study, qualitative and explanatory, carried out in two stages, the first, bibliographical survey and the second analysis of the collected data. Therefore, discussions on ethics, as well as normative documents for research with human beings, have become a prerogative in science, with the concept that any intervention on the human person, its fundamental characteristics, its life, physical integrity and mental health must subordinate to it. to the ethical precepts established by current legislation.
