The UNAM School of Architecture has joined the task of conservation of the architectural heritage since 2002, as they have currently under their custody fifteen archives of highly relevant Mexican architects of the XX century: José Villagrán García, Mario Pani, Augusto Pérez Palacios, Augusto H. Álvarez, Carlos Mijares Bracho, Abraham Zabludovsky, Enrique Carral, Enrique de la Mora, Manuel Rosen Morrison, Félix Candela, José Luis Benlliure, Mario Lazo Villareal, Ramón Torres Martínez, Enrique Yáñez de la Fuente and Jaime Ortiz Monasterio. The collection has gradually grown through donations and has worked in the preservation of its assets, basically with the labor of the students, which has become a pioneer example for the rest of the public Universities of the country. It has approximately with 150,000 plans, around 65,000 photographs and negatives as well as thousands of very varied documents. It has served for different academic and cultural purposes.
