Resumo: The use of analogy in Aldo Rossi’s work is a topic exhaustively treated by several authors. The main critical argument in relation to his designs relates to the subjective leap made in​​ the implementation from his theory to practice. Although Rossi always try to anchor their projects in a repertoire of historical architectural objects, this seems not to be enough to sustain his analogous game. But in a rather detached landscape far from the historical weight of the Italian cities it is possible to enjoy almost literally the analogous city described by Rossi. In this, you can understand the whole mechanism of analogy in a brief glance of the landscape framed there. Even with some inevitable comparisons, this analogous Rio de Janeiro much illuminates the transcendence of Rossi ́s ideas, and the constant need to revisit them.

O principal argumento crítico em relação a seus projetos diz respeito ao salto subjetivo efetuado na transposição de sua teoria para a prática. Ainda que Rossi procure sempre ancorar seus projetos em um repertório de objetos arquitetônicos retirados da história, isto parece não ser suficiente para sustentar seu jogo analógico. Porém, em uma paisagem bastante distanciada do peso histórico das cidades italianas é possível apreciar quase literalmente a cidade análoga que Rossi tanto cultuava.
