Resumo: Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia among the elderly and is characterized by progressive cognitive decline. Recent studies show that environments specially designed for people with Alzheimer can compensate their deficiencies and maintain its remaining capacity. These studies have been growing in Europe and North America but in Brazil the potential of the physical environment as a therapeutic resource remains a relatively unexplored subject. This article discusses the environment’s significance on the life quality of Alzheimer’s patients from a literature review on the main parameters of interior design which can serve as guidelines for changes and adaptations in environments for this population.

- jun. ; 192-207arq.urb; Núm. 11 (2014): jan. - jun. ; 192-207arq.urb; n. 11 (2014): jan. - jun. ; 192-2071984-5766reponame:arq.urbinstname:Universidade São Judas Tadeuinstacron:USJTporhttps://revistaarqurb.com.br/arqurb/article/view/368/337Copyright (c) 2014 Isabella Gaspar Sousa, Ivana Márcia Oliveira Maiahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGaspar Sousa, Isabella Márcia Oliveira Maia, Ivana 2021-03-26T19:31:45Zoai:ojs.emnuvens.com.br:article/368Revistahttps://revistaarqurb.com.br/arqurbPRIhttps://revistaarqurb.com.br/arqurb/oairevista.arq.urb@saojudas.br||1984-57661984-5766opendoar:2021-03-26T19:31:45arq.urb - Universidade São Judas Tadeufalse
