Resumo: This paper studies the impact of the Real Plan on the relative prices ofinputs used in the constructions funded by the government of Sao Paulo state. The analyses focuses on the period ofJanuary 1993 to December 1995, that is, 18 months prior to and 18 months following the implementation of the Real Plan. Initially the paper addresses the behavior of price indices related to specific types of construction. Next it examines the prices of two sets of inputs: materials and labor. The paper looks at the validity of commonly accepted hypothesis that inflation distorts relative prices: i) in favor of the sectors more capable of passing on cost to the prices; ii) in detriment tolabor.

A análise da enfase a um período de 3 anos, sendo um ano e meio antes e um ano e meio depois da implantação do Piano Real. A avaliação foi feita em dois niveis. Inicialmente estudou-se ocomportamento de um grupo de indices de preços relacionados a obras específicas e, em seguida, de dois conjuntos índices de preços de insumos, pertencentes as categorias de materiais e de mão de obra. O trabalho permite obter indicações acerca das hipóteses comumente aceitas de que a inflação distorce os preços relativos em favor dos setores com maior facilidade de repasse de preços e contra amão-de-obra.Universidade de São Paulo.
