Exploring the Participatory Design as a Support During the Development of Information Systems

Resumo: Development processes of information systems must focus on the end user’s needs for ensuring their effective satisfaction by the high degree of  usability, accessibility and quality. A practice that can be used to collect, analyze and design information in these processes is the Participatory Design (DP), which includes the participation of all stakeholders, such as developers, users, employees and partners, in the development process. Considering this context, this paper aims to explore this practice, which is still little employed in Software Engineering and Information Science, providing support in choosing and treatment of information. The research methodology used involves  descriptive and exploratory analysis as well as technical procedures of bibliographic and documental research. Uma prática que pode ser utilizada para coletar, analisar e projetar informações neste processo é o Design Participativo (DP), que abrange a participação de todos os interessados no processo de desenvolvimento do sistema como desenvolvedores, usuários, funcionários e parceiros. A participação dessas pessoas pode contribuir de forma relevante no desenvolvimento do sistema, já que elas possuem vivência real do trabalho, podendo destacar com propriedades os aspectos mais cruciais e importantes a serem considerados. A partir deste contexto, este artigo objetiva explorar essa prática, que ainda é pouco difundida na Engenharia de Software e em outras áreas correlatas, trazendo princípios para auxiliar na identificação de problemas e de possíveis soluções de sistemas de informação. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada consiste na realização de análise descritiva e exploratória, bem como procedimentos técnicos de pesquisas bibliográfica e documental.Universidade de São Paulo.
