Evaluation instruments of quality of life after bone marrow transplantation: a literature review

Resumo: This article presents a review of the literature concerning quality of life after bone marrow transplant (BMT) emphasizing psychosocial variables and personality characteristics involved in the adaptation process. Thus, analysis were reported about instruments of evaluation, used to identify predictors potential of psychosocial adjustment in order to improve a more depth understanding of psychological impact on quality of life to BMT survivors. The developed researches suggest that quality of life of survivors of BMT is associated with the personal resources related to adaptation, pointing towards the necessity of longitudinal and prospective studies.

O presente artigo apresenta uma revisão da literatura relativa à qualidade de vida após a realização de transplante de medula óssea (TMO), destacando-se as variáveis psicossociais e as características de personalidade envolvidas no processo de adaptação. Nesse contexto, apresenta algumas considerações sobre instrumentos de avaliação, utilizados na identificação de possíveis preditores de ajustamento psicossocial no sentido de ampliar a compreensão do significado psicológico do TMO na sobrevida dos pacientes. Os estudos desenvolvidos sugerem que a qualidade de vida dos pacientes pós-TMO está associada aos recursos pessoais disponíveis à adaptação, apontando para a necessidade de pesquisas longitudinais e prospectivas.
