Resumo: The obstetrical nursing practice has shown a insufficient exchange of information among prenatal care service and delivery room and postnatal unities, mainly related to women needs and condition. The lack of this information makes difficult planning and implementing nursing care during labor, delivery and postpartum period. Moreover, nursing care given is fragmented so that in every Maternity Unit the woman is assisted by a different element of the nursing team. The knowledge of. the evolution and the condition of labor and delivery by the postnatal ward nurse will make possible an individualized and continuous nursing care. Our study .involves a study on a systematic communication among the members of the various services and unities related to problems and needs of the women. We propose a tool for the follow-up of women during labor delivery which will be evaluated by obstetrical nurses regarding its form, content and applicability.

We propose a tool for the follow-up of women during labor delivery which will be evaluated by obstetrical nurses regarding its form, content and applicability.A experiência nos mostra que entre o serviço de pré-natal, o centro obstétrico e a unidade de puerperio há pouco intercambio de informações, principalmente quanto às condições e necessidade da mulher. A falta destas informações dificulta o planejamento e a implementação dos cuidados de enfermagem durante o parto e o puerperio. Além disto, a assistência de enfermagem prestada é fragmentada, isto é, em cada unidade hospitalar, a mulher será assistida por elementos diferentes da equipe de enfermagem. O conhecimento sobre a evolução e as condições do trabalho de parto facilitaria em muito a prestação de assistência individualizada e de continuidade à puérpera, por parte da enfermeira. Nosso estudo envolve um sistema de comunicação do pessoal das unidades de pré-parto e sala de parto com o pessoal da unidade de puerperio, acerca dos problemas e necessidades da parturiente. Assim, propomos uma ficha para o acompanhamento da mulher durante o trabalho de parto e o parto que será avaliada por peritos em enfermagem obstétrica, quanto à forma, conteúdo e aplicabilidade.Universidade de São Paulo.
