Resumo: The problem of the relation between Psychology and Art is considered with reference to the limits of the field structured by the plastic arts and originated by the specificity of the"human order". Pareyson, Battaille and Merleau-Ponty lay the foundation of an idea of work of art as a reflexive field asking the interpreter to be opened to the new, thence alterity, a fundamental attitude for research in Social Psychology of Art.

A questão da relação entre a Psicologia e a Arte é considerada tendo por referência os limites do campo estruturado pelas artes plásticas, fundado pela especificidade da"ordem humana", A teoria da arte como"formatividade" (Pareyson), a interpretação da pintura rupestre como"milagre" (Bataille) e a filosofia da pintura como"ontologia da visão" (Merleau-Ponty) fundamentam um pensamento que elabora uma concepção de obra de arte como campo reflexivo a solicitar do intérprete a abertura para o novo e, portanto, para a alteridade -postura fundamental na pesquisa em Psicologia Social da Arte.
