Resumo: This article aims to identify the discursive strategies employed in the foundation manifesto of Football, Media and Democracy Movement to represent its political struggle as reasonable, that is, as fair and deserving of support. In order to achieve this goal, it adopts the constructionist perspective of language, witch conceives it as a social practice determined by the structures of society, and develops a discourse analysis. Among others arguments, the article sustains that the main strategy to legitimize these objectives and action is the universalization strategy.

A fim de alcançar tal objetivo, adota a perspectiva construcionista de linguagem, que a concebe como uma prática social determinada pelas estruturas da sociedade, e realiza uma análise de discurso. Entre outros argumentos, o artigo sustenta que a principal estratégia para legitimar esses objetivos e ações é a da universalização.Universidade de São Paulo.
