Women in Radiojournalism: mapping the presence of female voices in jornalistic radio programs

Resumo: The female presence in a prominent position in journalistic radio programs is a recent phenomenon that seems to have broken the historical hegemony of male voices. This study mapped the women who occupied or occupy the positions of presenters or debaters in the prime range of radio journalism stations with national reach. The results point to a gradual increase that was consolidated in 2020, when all programs in the prime range now have women presenters. The female advancement, however, does not represent, for the time being, gender equity in the conduction of the programs. Vocal gender stereotypes make it challenging for women to reach the same standard of acceptance as men in radio journal.

Este estudo mapeou as mulheres que ocuparam ou ocupam posição de apresentadoras ou debatedoras na faixa nobre das emissoras de radiojornalismo de alcance nacional. Os resultados apontam para um aumento gradual que se consolida em 2020, quando todos os programas da faixa nobre passaram a contar com mulheres apresentadoras. O avanço feminino, no entanto, não representa, por ora, equidade de gênero na condução dos programas. Os estereótipos vocais de gênero tornam desafiador para as mulheres atingirem o mesmo padrão de aceitação dos homens no radiojornalismo.Universidade de São Paulo.
