Resumo: Based on Abdin's (2021) identification of the elements that make up the internet considered to be situated "below the radar" and Bergman's (2001) distinctions between invisible and visible networks, we seek to characterize and problematize the performance of Brazilian journalists in "dark online spaces". As evidence, we selected reports published between 2016 and 2019, mainly in Veja's magazine and website. From assumptions, we observe technical and methodological limits that compromise the operations of journalism. To overcome these barriers, whose effects are limiting for the news and informational role of the profession, it is proposed to extend the research with method reviews and the application of alternative forms of verifications.

Como evidências, selecionamos reportagens publicadas entre 2016 e 2019, principalmente na revista e no site da Veja. A partir de pressupostos, observamos preocupantes limites técnicos e metodológicos que comprometem as operações do jornalismo. Para vencer essas barreiras, cujos efeitos são limitantes para o papel noticioso e informativo da profissão, propõe-se o prolongamento das pesquisas com revisões de métodos e aplicação de formas alternativas de apuração.Universidade de São Paulo.
