Resumo: When lexis is discursively updated, it gains discursive property status and takes part in the construction and dissemination of ideologies as the elements which surround its production, being time, place or social identity the relations between the participants of the enunciation. In order to get to know ideological investments present in the lexical choice, this study intends to raise and analyze the human body lexis updated in three Portuguese coursebooks for other languages’ speakers, using the methodology of semantic fields (for organization of the lexis) and the sociocognitive orientation of Critical Discourse Analysis (for analysis of lexical choices).
