Resumo: | The fibromyalgia is a chronicle painful syndrome, not inflammatory, of unknown physiopathology and it comes to attract attention with largerinterest due to the frequency, complexity and social and economical importance. To syndrome of the fibromyalgia it is much more frequent in women, and, although it can appear in any age, the incidence pick is between 35 and 45 years of age. Shows chronically for diffuse pains in the body, mainly in muscles and connective fibrous tissue (ligaments and tendons), that it presents extremely painful points to the touch of the physical exam, denominated painful points or "tender points". For beingof refractory pathology to medications and with painful picture, it is justified our interest in studying the effectiveness of the Physiotherapy, through the use of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) in the treatment of those patients, accompanying in the effects on the symptoms of the pain. Participated in this work five patient of both sexes, with age among 12 to 18 years, with fibromyalgia diagnosis. Was used the experimental research with design of only one subject, comparing the individual's acting after each treatment with you TENS. The improvement referred by the patients with relationship to relief of the pain, measured by the Visual Analogical Scale of Pain; suggest that the physiotherapy attendance through the application of the TENS in low frequency can be an important option to contribute in the fibromyalgia treatment. |
