Museums and itinerant science centers in the state of Rio de Janeiro: internalizing scientific knowledge

Resumo: | This article is the result of a piece of research that analyzed the traveling experiences of the museums and science centers of the state of Rio de Janeiro; their history, their way of acting and the themes addressed in the presentations were also scrutinized. The field of itinerancy has been increasingly present in science education, filling in a gap regarding the access of individuals to nonformal educational spaces and being a very effective tool in the process of scientific dissemination. This piece of research was necessary due to the lack of systematic and centralized information regarding these museums and itinerant science centers. Its aim was to collectivize the information that had been collected, because by providing an overview of these itinerant museums, it is possible to reach more teachers and/or educators so that they can use the services in a more fruitful way. The research was qualitative, making use of strategies in order to identify the various aspects of the studied object. Information was obtained through documentary and bibliographic survey, observation of itinerant activities and interviews with those responsible for itinerant activities. The results pointed to the importance of itinerancy in the interiorization and democratization of access to scientific dissemination equipment. |

O campo da itinerância tem se mostrado cada vez mais presente no âmbito do ensino de ciências, preenchendo uma lacuna com relação ao acesso dos indivíduos aos espaços não formais de educação e sendo uma ferramenta muito eficaz no processo de divulgação científica. A pesquisa se fez necessária devido à falta de informações sistemáticas e centralizadas sobre esses Museus e centros de ciências itinerantes. O intuito é de coletivizar as informações levantadas, pois ao trazer um panorama geral sobre esses museus itinerantes é possível atingir mais professores e/ou educadores com o propósito de que eles possam utilizar os serviços de maneira mais proveitosa. A pesquisa seguiu o método qualitativo, envolvendo estratégias de maneira a identificar os diferentes aspectos do objeto estudado. As informações foram obtidas através de levantamento documental e bibliográfico, observação das atividades itinerantes e entrevistas com os responsáveis pelas itinerâncias.
