Resumo: Exacerbated ecotourism can contribute to the degradation of scenic beauty if there is noadequate infrastructure for visitation. In this way, the present study aims to analyse anddelineate the best areas for the implementation of interpretive trails in the municipality ofSão João da Ponta-Pará, Brazil. To define the location of the tracks was necessary thecharacterization of the vegetation units by means of Geoprocessing and GeographicInformation System techniques with the help of Spring 5.0.6 software. The images usedwere captured by the satellites TM / LANDSAT and CBERS 2B-HRC, available free of chargeby IBGE. The compilation of the thematic map of vegetation units is on a scale of 1:126000. The results indicated the presence of three (3) distinct phytophysiognomies:mangrove (Resex limits), floodplain and “floresta de terra firme” or forest of the mainland. These vegetation units are divide into six (6) classes: 1) Várzea vegetation; 2) Regeneratingearth-firm vegetation; 3) Ground-firm vegetation with advanced regeneration; 4)Vegetation of mangrove; 5) Non-forest; and, 6) Productive areas and exposed soil.Through a qualitative analysis, it was possible to verify that the best areas for thedevelopment of interpretive trails are those located in the surroundings of the Resexpresent greater conditions of development, considering, in addition to the landscaperesources the accessibility. It is conclude that the implementation of an interpretive trail isan important instrument for Environmental Education contributes to the sustainable useof natural resources and can still be an attractive for ecotourism in the municipality, besides being a source of supplementation of income for the population with theformation of tourist guides of the communities themselves.

It is conclude that the implementation of an interpretive trail isan important instrument for Environmental Education contributes to the sustainable useof natural resources and can still be an attractive for ecotourism in the municipality, besides being a source of supplementation of income for the population with theformation of tourist guides of the communities themselves.O turismo exacerbado pode contribuir com a degradação de belezas cênicas, caso não haja a devida infraestrutura para visitação. Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR)Pedreira Ferreira, Manoella BarrosNascimento, Cláudia PinheiroRibeiro, Luciene2019-01-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/rts/article/view/714610.3895/rts.v15n35.7146Revista Tecnologia e Sociedade; v. 15, n. 35 (2019)Revista Tecnologia e Sociedade; v. 15, n. 35 (2019)1984-35261809-004410.3895/rts.v15n35reponame:Revista Tecnologia e Sociedade (Online)instname:Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR)instacron:UTFPRporhttps://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/rts/article/view/7146/6529Direitos autorais 2019 CC-BYhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2019-08-29T18:51:30Zoai:periodicos.utfpr:article/7146Revistahttps://periodicos.ifrs.edu.br/index.php/tearPUBhttps://periodicos.utfpr.edu.br/rts/oai||rts-ct@utfpr.edu.br1984-35261809-0044opendoar:2019-08-29T18:51:30Revista Tecnologia e Sociedade (Online) - Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR)false
