Quality of life of people with disabilities: systematic review in the context of publications in databases Brazilian

OBJECTIVE: To identify the approaches to quality of life studies of people with disabilities (PCDs) within the scope of Brazilian studies published in the Scielo, LILACS, MEDLINE and CAPES theses databases from 2000 to 2014.METHODS: After defining the objective of the study and selecting the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the descriptors, keywords and keywords are used to search. The studies found from the descriptors were pre-selected by reading the titles and abstracts, based on the quality of life of the disabled population, regardless of the subjects of the research. It was used the reading of the articles in full, when the summary did not bring enough information, to define the possible inclusion or exclusion of the same. After the selection of included studies, content was analyzed from pre-established categories of analysis.RESULTS: Of the 37 papers selected, the quantitative approach predominates in 25 papers. In 2011, with 14 papers, and 2012, with 12 papers, were the ones that found more publications and the work addresses different deficiencies, using different subjects and different scopes. The World Health Organization Quality of Life - Bref (WHOQOL-Bref) was the most used instrument in the studies 19 papers, for the evaluation of quality of life.CONCLUSIONS: The focus of the studies is focused on the individual, not focusing on the environment and, consequently, on what types of adaptations are needed to enable families of PCDs to improve their quality of life.
