Resumo: OBJECTIVE: Compare, between new students from a training institute, the movement pattern with core strength and dynamic endurance.METHODS: We evaluated 1,761 new students entering into an Institute of customized training, concerning the pattern of movement, core strength and endurance.RESULTS: The average age of the subjects was 32 years and 58% were females. Women had higher force indexes, while men showed better resistance in the muscles related to the core. These results are directly related to the pattern of movement, as they are related to flexion and extension of hip and knees, allowing better ambulation. Men performed better squat, while women showed better performance in advance exercises (the more specific and complex movement).CONCLUSIONS: The specific training of the core musculature keeps close association with the interdependent variables that help their function, particularly core endurance.
