Resumo: The recognition of gender violence as a global problem has established several obligations upon the State, amongst them the implementation of public policies of prevention and punishment of this phenomenon. One of these policies is the development of risk assessment tools for the recurrence of intimate partner violence. Its objective is to ensure an effective response to the registration of violence with public services for women who were victims of domestic violence. This study identifies the main risk factors revealed by these risk assessment tools and analyses their incidence and pertinence. Implications for further research are discussed.
