Resumo: The occurrence of child abuse has serious consequences for the development of children and to society in general. A major finding is that, often, the mother is the author of aggression. The consequences of these practices on child development ranging from low self-esteem, behavioral problems, learning disabilities, brain neurobiological changes to the appearance of violent and matricide behavior. In this context, preventive actions are fundamental. This study aimed to develop and implement a prevention of child abuse with pregnant women program. Sought to identify the potential for physical abuse of pregnant women, their parenting styles, social skills and the difficulties presented by their children. The participants were seven pregnant women, one primiparous and six non-gilts, the Campo Largo. Of these, five have participated with their children in observing the interaction of dyads. As a strategy for data collection was used a questionnaire to identify risk factors and protection factors; observation of the interaction of mothers with their children; implementation of CAP tests to measure the potential for physical abuse of pregnant women, IEP and IEPMB to check the parenting style for the child and the baby, IHS to measure social skills of pregnant women and the SDQ to identify the difficulties presented by children. Next, an intervention program was applied to 12 weekly sessions (one per week). There was reapplication of the instruments in post-test (after the intervention) and follow-up (after three months). The results showed that the participants have risk factors indicators for child abuse negative emotional state and the use of negative maternal practices. There were indicators of insecure attachment relationship for attachment secure one of the participants, while the others kept the result compatible with secure attachment relationship indicators. As for the tendency to physical abuse, parenting style, social skills and difficulties presented by children, there was an improvement of results pre to post-test, which was not maintained in the follow-up phase. The conclusion of this study showed that compared to the numerous existing stressors in the lives of participants, there is need for a more lasting and intensive intervention, even after the birth, to prevent child abuse. There was 100% adherence to the intervention program and participants generally assessed positively the topics covered during the sessions.

Submitted by Divanete Paiva (divanete.paiva@utp.br) on 2018-05-09T12:48:36Z No. of bitstreams: 1 INTERVENCAO COM MAES GESTANTES.pdf: 1051296 bytes, checksum: 4a2d48409c0e6cc1b9f96fb47548ef72 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2018-05-09T12:48:36Z (GMT).
