Relação entre o abrigamento e os projetos de vida dos adolescentes - um estudo de caso

This dissertation, from a theoretical perspective of Community Social Psychology, aimed to describe and analyze the particular relation of the shelter and the construction of the life projects of the institutionalized adolescents. The study was carried out in Abrigo X, in the city of Curitiba / Paraná, which is a host institution for children and adolescents at social and personal risk with very peculiar characteristics such as providing medical, psychological, psychopedagogical, leisure activities and access to the best private schools in the city. It is a case study, whose method used was qualitative through semi-structured interview, with recording and transcription. Six adolescents aged 11 to 18 years were interviewed, who were willing to participate in the research, the director and social worker of the institution. The analysis of the discourse was used to raise the main categories present in their speeches: view of the sheltered as a situation of dignity; the absence of public policies for institutionalized children; difficulties in the process of returning to the family of origin; life project, related to: leisure activities, tastes and professions, stay in the shelter and return to the family of origin. The findings can contribute to a reflection on the relationship that can be established between the adolescents and the shelter, which imply in the construction of the life projects permeated by the policy that obliges both Shelter X and its shelters to develop a process of return to the family source. The dissertation also points out the need for public policies to listen to the social subjects that are the object of their programs as well as to the importance of forming psychosocial and community networks that can promote participatory social changes aimed at young people at social risk.
