Resumo: | Brazilian Portuguese reflects the influences from culture and language of peoples who participated of Brazilian nation formation process, especially on the lexical level. From among every ethnicities that had contact with the settler, the tupi peoples were the most important on the expansion and settlement process of Brazil, since colonial period, perpetuating their presence with the tupi legacy – the tupinisms – from among other ones, bequeathed to the Lexicon of the language, like on the designations of fauna elements. This article discusses the interethnic influences in the 25 Brazilian states citizens’ vocabulary, from Projeto ALiB (Brazilian Linguistic Atlas Project) data. The study, beyond to investigate the likely motivations for the use of registered designations on the spoken language of the capitals citizens, assayed the data from ethnic-dialectological view, to looking for trails of indian influence on this vocabulary. This work has as its corpus the registered answers for 88 QSL (Semantics-Lexical Questionnaire) of ALiB, which searches designations to “pernilongo”, the way that this insect is commonly named in many Brazilian regions. 6 lexical items were registered, between them 03 are from tupi substrate (carapanã, muriçoca e maruim/muruim), with major productivity on Northeast and North regions, data that sustains the tupi vitality on the spoken language of this regions people. The other lexical items are from Portuguese base, and had more productivity on Southeast, South and West Centre regions. This information confirms the importance of geolinguistic researches for the regionalisms documentation and for description of ethnic stratum that forms a language vocabulary. |

Unioeste2010-12-22info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/travessias/article/view/3226Travessias; Vol. 4 No. 3 (2010); e3226Travessias; Vol. 4 Núm. 3 (2010); e3226Travessias; v. 4 n. 3 (2010); e32261982-5935reponame:Travessias (Cascavel.
