Resumo: This study aims to make bibliography about the aspects of the Ukrainian immigrationto Brazil, and verify, through Ukrainian descents’ reports, the reasons why immigrants have leftUkraine, the conditions of their journey until their destination and the ways they were established inBrazilian land. The relevance of this study is in the discussion and registration of the socio-historicalaspects concerning about the arrival of Ukrainian immigrants to our country, specifically to theCenter-South region of Paraná and to Itapará community, located in Irati. Our study is based on thetheoretical and methodological postulates of sociolinguistics, and having this in mind, after analyzingwhat was used in this theory, we considered relevant to have a field research, in which we gatheredinformation through interviews with ten informants and also observation in loco.

A relevância deste estudose apresenta no momento em que se pretende discutir e registrar aspectos sócio-históricosconcernentes à vinda dos imigrantes ucranianos para o nosso país, mais precisamente para a regiãoCentro-Sul do Paraná e para a comunidade de Itapará, localizada no município de Irati.
