This article is an excerpt from a master's thesis inserted in the Graduate Program in Social Policies at Universidade Estadual Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF). It is a study that deals with the presence of the black body in classical ballet. The same has the general objective of verifying the perception of black dancers who work in the field of classical ballet on the effects of structural racism in this art, with the city Campos dos Goytacazes/RJ as a highlight of analysis. The methodology used is descriptive and used a qualitative approach. The sampling technique used was the non-probabilistic one called Snowball (Vinuto, 2014). For data collection, semi-structured interviews were conducted with black dancers residing in the city. Data were analyzed using the Content Analysis research technique advocated by Bardin (1977). As main results, we noticed that most dancers believe in the existence of racism in the classical ballet of the city in question and see this phenomenon, mainly, through the low presence of black classical ballet students and teachers in the city. . As final considerations, we conclude that black dancers in the city see racism in the local classical ballet in different ways. In addition, the authors highlight the need to produce more research in this area, aiming to contribute more and more to the anti-racist struggle in classical ballet.
