Resumo: One basic factor for to made develop the ecotourism in the amazon is the alteridade. To respect for the others peoples is essential. Starting this, was studded discourses of the amazon peoples about the mythology. Two rural communities at the manaus (am) were investigated. Were explored socials representations of the environmentalism to the 30 peoples. It was utilized the survey not-probabilistic, with 120 participants, conducted about four population groups, applied for the “sex” and “time in the community” subdivisions. The results showed items positives and negatives for the amazon myths, that they affirms to be necessary specific actions for to ecotourism factor. This is occurred because there are many peoples that believed in the amazon myths. This situation to result in the social changes for the public opinion situated in the rural areas.

This situation to result in the social changes for the public opinion situated in the rural areas.                   Um princípio básico para se efetivar o ecoturismo na amazônia é o fomento a alteridade. Respeitar o outro é essencial para o setor. Partindo desse pressuposto, foram estudados discursos de povos amazônicos acerca da mitologia cabocla. Duas comunidades rurais de manaus (am) foram avaliadas. Foram exploradas representações sociais do ambientalismo de 30 pessoas. Utilizou-se modelo não-probabilístico, por cotas, com abrangência de 120 participantes, distribuídos entre quatro conjuntos populacionais, subdivididos entre sexo e tempo de estada nas regiões. Os resultados mostraram existir condições atenuantes e agravantes para a aceitação dos mitos, o que sugere a necessidade de práticas específicas de fomento ao ecoturismo, caso este ocorra nessas regiões amazônicas — isso porque a quantidade de pessoas na zona rural de manaus que hoje toma como crível os mitos contados desde a antigüidade ainda é muito significativa, sobretudo no reduzido conjunto da opinião pública das populações amazônicas situadas em ambientes agropastoris.
