Resumo: Using contributions of the studies of Michel Foucault, the article analyses the collection “Letters and forms”, produced by the Institute Alfa e Beto, for the teaching of the handwriting for children in the process of literacy. There are discussed determined discursive regularities picked up in the analysis of the material, looking for connections that allow to show the possibility of emergence of such regularities in today’s school, as well as its functions. To the end, the analyzed material is discussed as part of a machinery of technologies produced specially by the school to bring the childlike writings to normal.

Utilizando contribuições dos estudos de Michel Foucault, o artigo analisa a coleção “Letras e formas”, produzida pelo Instituto Alfa e Beto, para o ensino da caligrafia para crianças alfabetizandas. São discutidas e determinadas regularidades discursivas pinçadas na análise do material, procurando conexões que permitam visibilizar a possibilidade de emergência de tais regularidades na escola de hoje, assim como suas funcionalidades.
