Resumo: | This paper aims to analyze the representations of gender, race and class included in the tales Maria, from Conceição Evaristo (1991) and Amor, from Clarice Lispector (1960), in an intersectional way. Both tales were written in contemporary times, but bring out different representations, once the characters Maria and Ana, respectively, are positioned as individuals in different locations and, as a consequence, go through different factors. In the methodological field, a cultural analysis is done, while in the theoretical field, authors such as Bell Hooks (2019); Grada Kilomba (2019); Lélia González (1982) among others, are used. Preliminary is possible to see that, though both characters are women, they are not represented in the same way, since that while Ana is a middle-class housewife that can take care of her children full time, Maria is a housekeeper that works excessively to support hers, what causes different concerns pass through each of them. |

Unioeste2023-08-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://e-revista.unioeste.br/index.php/travessias/article/view/3146010.48075/rt.v17i2.31460Travessias; Vol. 17 No. 2 (2023); e31460Travessias; Vol. 17 Núm. 2 (2023); e31460Travessias; v. 17 n. 2 (2023); e314601982-5935reponame:Travessias (Cascavel.
