This article constitutes a search in progress, is located on the axis of Training and Professional Practice, bringing thoughts on the debates surrounding the centrality of domestic violence against women, focusing on vocational and professional ethics to make the Social Worker in a critical perspective, but discuss the trajectory of socio-historical transformations occurring within the profession, taking as the Movement of March reconceptualization and its contribution to the professional ethics of social services. Regarding the relationship social worker and domestic violence against women, discussed the relevance of socio-occupational training in areas where care to victims of violence in an emancipatory approach. The method used is linked to the literature, whose main authors were referenced Marilda Iamamoto Ozana and Maria Silva, which brings reflections on the professional practice of social work since its inception, Maria Lucia S. Baroque touches on professional ethics, and Scott and Saffioti, which specifically discuss the issue of gender in the context of domestic violence against women.
